New Tower Installation
Construction began on the foundation for a new microwave tower at the SonBridge Community Center, Blue Mountain Television's future location. On Tuesday, February 27, workers began by drilling the holes for the tower footings. Workers also set the jig that will hold the rebar in place as the cement is poured.
Station engineers expect that work will progress smoothly on the communications tower. It's a vital step in the transition to the SonBridge Community Center.
The tower will hold new microwave links to Walla Walla College and BMT transmitters. It will also hold satellite dishes and other wireless devices vital to the operation of the station.

PHASE I
Making the transition to digital broadcast in time to be operational by the February 2009 deadline is a top priority for Blue Mountain Television. When our current and future viewers make the switch to digital viewing, Blue Mountain Television's quality Christian programming needs to be available to everyone.
Over 2,500 square feet has been donated to Blue Mountain Television for its new location at 1200 SE 12th Street in the Northeast end of the new SonBridge Community Center.
Needed Improvements
The Blue Mountain Television Board has implemented a three phase strategy to make needed improvements:
PHASE I
Meet the Federal Communication Commission's February, 2009 deadline for full power stations to broadcast digitally and install related equipment at the SonBridge Community Center.
PHASE II
Install an automated master control system for reliability and flexibility at the SonBridge Community Center.
PHASE III
Create sufficient offices, edit suites, and work areas that are accessible to the entire community, including the elderly and handicapped at the SonBridge Community Center.
